School libraries have a vital role to play throughout the learning journey, in supporting literacy, health, and well-being, and improving attainment. Nanpean School’s existing library was looking tired. The school enlisted the help of Westcountry Group to transform this area, maximising the use of available space.
Our solution
Their vision was to create a calm, engaging, and inviting place for the children to enjoy books. We created a bright, playful yet calming colour scheme to create an oasis of calm and a sense of well-being for the students. New colourful curved shelving, furniture, and inspiring wall graphics have brought this space to life.
Result
The result? A new library that offers a welcoming, stimulating environment where the children can come and pick up their favourite book from one of the many shelves and find a corner to read. A new library that encourages
children to love reading and brings books to life, instilling a love for reading that will serve the students well throughout their lives.
